Introduction

Mouse sensitivity is one of the most personal and important settings in CS2. The right sensitivity allows you to aim precisely while maintaining the ability to turn quickly and track targets effectively.

Why Sensitivity Matters:
Consistency - Helps build reliable muscle memory

Precision - Affects your ability to hit shots

Comfort - Prevents strain during long sessions

Adaptability - Balances between micro and macro movements

Understanding eDPI & cm/360

Two key metrics help compare sensitivities across different setups:

eDPI (Effective DPI)

eDPI = Mouse DPI × In-Game Sensitivity

This normalizes sensitivity across different DPI settings. For example:
800 DPI × 1.0 sens = 800 eDPI

400 DPI × 2.0 sens = 800 eDPI (same feeling!)

Common eDPI ranges:
Low: 600-800

Medium: 800-1200

High: 1200-1600+

cm/360 (Centimeters per 360°)

The physical mouse distance needed for a full 360° turn in-game.

Typical ranges:
Low sens: 40-60+ cm/360

Medium sens: 25-40 cm/360

High sens: 15-25 cm/360

Lower cm/360 = Higher sensitivity = Less mouse movement needed

Finding Your Ideal Sensitivity

Follow this methodical approach to find your perfect sensitivity:

Step 1: Determine Your Play Style
Rifler: Medium-low (more precision)

Entry Fragger: Medium-high (quick turns)

AWPer: Low-medium (precision shots)

Step 2: Start with a Baseline
Try 800 eDPI (e.g., 800 DPI × 1.0 sens) as a starting point. This is the most common range among pros.

Step 3: Test Common Scenarios
Can you comfortably track running targets?

Can you make micro-adjustments for headshots?

Can you turn 180° without lifting your mouse?

Does your arm/wrist feel comfortable after 30 minutes?

Step 4: Make Small Adjustments
Change sensitivity by 10-20 eDPI at a time. Test for at least 2-3 days before changing again.

Testing Method:
1. Deathmatch for 30 minutes
2. Note your comfort level
3. Try aim training maps (aim_botz)
4. Record your accuracy stats
5. Adjust and repeat

Converting Between Games

Maintaining consistent sensitivity across games helps preserve muscle memory.

Use Our Converter:
Visit our Sensitivity Converter to convert between:
Valorant → CS2

Apex Legends → CS2

Overwatch → CS2

And more!

Why Convert?
Your muscle memory for 180° turns and flicks remains consistent across all games, making it easier to switch between them.

Pro Tip: Use the same mouse and DPI across all games for best results.

Pro Player Sensitivity Ranges

Professional CS2 players typically use these ranges:

Most Common: 800-1000 eDPI (70% of pros)
Balanced between precision and movement

Allows quick reactions without sacrificing accuracy

Examples: s1mple (1040), NiKo (880), ZywOo (880)

Low Sens: 600-800 eDPI (15% of pros)
Maximum precision for long-range fights

Requires large mousepad

Examples: dev1ce (760), Xyp9x (720)

High Sens: 1000-1400 eDPI (15% of pros)
Quick movements and entries

Smaller physical space needed

Examples: woxic (1600), ropz (1080)

Key Takeaway: Most pros cluster around 800-1000 eDPI. This range provides the best balance for competitive play.
